High Plain Artisan Market

Brand Design | Logo Design

Project Date: 2021

Working with creative business owners is one of my favorite things to do as a brand strategist, so when the folks at High Plain Artisan Market approached me about a redesign and brand system project, I couldn’t resist.

We started off by going through a few brand exercises centered around the desired look and feel, the goal of the rebrand, and the final asset requirements. Once we had a good grasp on how we could transform the High Plain brand I got to work sketching and brainstorming new logo possibilities that incorporated the “third eye” imagery that was brought up as a potential fit for the icon part of the logo. After a few rounds of back and forth, we had a winner.

The final third eye icon for High Plain

Now that the icon was established, we got to work on the text. High Plain wanted a sophisticated and unique look for their brand name, and I got straight to work building a few options. This text needed to work well on its own and as part of the overall logo, so I chose base fonts that were strong independently but also complimented the third eye icon.

Ultimately, we chose the final text look based on the curls and the super thin slab serifs that gave the text that unique touch High Plain was looking for.

After establishing the brand logo, I then turned to the final brand guide and imagery selection. For a quick summation of that process, enjoy this selection of imagery with the final icon transposed over the top.

Overall, this project gave High Plain the logo, branding, and imagery they needed to propel their business forward. Although the owners have since decided to move on from the brand, the feedback on the redesign was incredibly positive and it proved to be a very successful project for everyone involved.
